Quality, sustainability and people have guided Dalmard Marine for four generations.
This is why our customers and partners trust us.
This is why we exist.

Armand Le Guen - Manufacture founder
Armand Le Guen - Manufacture founder

Armand Le Guen, sailor from Terre Neuvas, started making foulies and jackets for the fishermen of Iceland, using recycled canvas from tents.

From 1937 onwards, he sold his marine clothing from his shop ‘Au bon accueil’ in rue des 8 Patriotes in Paimpol.

1950 The second generation specializes in the peacoat and the kabig

After the Second World War, Armand Le Guen's daughter Annick Le Guen and her husband Honoré Dalmard took over the family business. They drew on the skills of home dressmakers to make peacoats and kabigs from woollen cloth.

In 1962, a boutique was opened on Place du Martray in Paimpol, on the site of the Hôtel Continental.

The company created the first children's sailor jumper in partnership with Tricomer.

In 1968 and again in 1972, it opened two retail shops on Rue de Rome and Rue de Rennes in Paris.

1982 The third generation develops the points of sale

Thierry and Soizic Dalmard

Thierry Soizic Dalmard took over the company. Relying on a number of partner production units in France and Europe, they expanded the collections and never stopped thinking about sustainability.

Thanks to their network of sales agents, the number of points of sale is increasing in Brittany, Canada, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Ireland.

1996 Launch of the online shop and opening of the factory-direct shop

After working with Agnès B on the design of a yellow kabig, Dalmard Marine created Brittany's first online shop for sailor clothing.

The company opened a factory-direct shop in the port of Paimpol, in the spirit of traditional Scandinavian houses. In this shop, factory-direct prices are charged on the brand's iconic clothing and accessories.

2017 The fourth generation reinvents itself

Maxime Dalmard, one of Thierry and Soizic Dalmard's four sons, took the helm of the family business after 10 years as a project manager in a major group.

In 2018, the company, then a partner of the Belem Foundation, became an official textile supplier and distributor. It is offering an exclusive capsule collection of iconic marine clothing.

In 2019, it is collaborating with international brand Eden Park on the creation and design of a rugby-inspired peacoat.
